Rocky Ford Spring Creek, WA   June 1999

Rocky Ford is where I learned to fly-fish, save the many days casting my rod in front of the house.  It is by far my favorite fishing destination, not only for the Kamloops Rainbows averaging 16-20", but for the scenery as well.  Set in the desert of Eastern Washington and peppered with boulders from prehistoric glacial movement, it is truly a beautiful place to fish.  The neat thing is, it can be fished all year, because the warm spring water doesn't freeze in the winter.

These photos are from my trip to Rocky Ford over my Summer leave.   It was a great time, not only to fish, but to spend some quality time with my Father, who taught me the great art of fly-fishing.

Finally!  About an 18" Kamloops Rainbow.  This was on a size 16 brassy.

A closer look.  This one is about 20".  I caught it on a size 20 Olive Comparadun.
